Walkthrough

Speak with Ang Di Lowrock, he gives the quest after dialogue so you will not see the usual quest icon above his head. He also doesn't seem to want to talk to you if you have not completed the quest "The Right Stuff".

Ang Di Lowrock says, "Turn back while you still can, [Player Race]. This temple is corrupted by pure evil and it will consume you."

You say, "I have come to put an end to the corruption." through the dialogue window.

"You seek what others have failed to accomplish. The end of the ulvari threat is not reachable by a mere mortal. You waste your time coming here."

You say, "I have slain numerous ulvari. I do not fear their dark powers."

"As you wish. Though I cannot warn you enough of the consequences that await, such as your own death. If you insist on continuing then I shall do my best to assist you, as my soul is trapped here as long as the ulvari corruption remains."

You say, "Your help is more than welcome."

"You will not be able to defeat the Guardian Father Iku Dai, the great priest that opened the doorway between the ulvari realm and ours. If you engage him in your current state he will surely obliterate you. You will need to find a way to protect yourself."

You say, "How can I do this?"

"The hobgoblins created a sanctuary dedicated to the spirit of Zalaz, deep within the western wing of the temple. Only with the help of Zalaz can you hope to defeat Iku Dai. You will need to summon forth his aspect and request the protection of Zalaz."

You say, "I defeated the Aspect before."

"You must try, or all else is lost. Only Zalaz can provide the protection you need to survive the great flames of Iku Dai."

You say, "I will try to reason with it again."

"Move down this corridor and head west at the split. This is the west wing. At the far reaches of it, you will discover the alter of fire. In this room is a chest the hobgoblins used to store ember shards, which are used to summon the Aspect of Zalaz."

"Stand on the stairs, toss the ember shard in the lava and shout out for Zalaz. Convince the aspect to grant you the protection of Zalaz."

"If you fail, then the world will be consumed by the wrath of the ulvari."

Run down to the end of the West Wing of the temple. You should find a large T-shaped pool of lava. Loot an Ember Shard from the a clickable chest by the tents. (The chest has a 1 min respawn)

Ember Shard added to your inventory.

Stand on the steps to the lava pool and click the Ember Shard in your inventory to summon the Aspect of Zalaz.

Ember Shard was removed from your inventory.

Aspect of Zalaz says, "You dare to summon me, [Player]? After your treacherous acts in the farmlands, I should incinerate your flesh."

You say, "Forgive me, might Zalaz. I was only trying to help you." through the dialogue window.

"Using my own power against me is your way of help? You are not worthy to wield the powers of Zalaz as your intentions are clear. No mortal can destroy me."

You say, "My intentions were to remove the ulvari corruption from you. Only your power could do this."

"Lies! If you wish to engage in battle then we shall do it now. You do not carry the ring of Zalaz this time, mortal. You will surely perish."

You say, "No, I do not wish to fight you. I plead for your assistance, might one."

"You refuse to fight and seek my aid, this I did foresee. It is true you did release me from the grasps of the ulvari corruption. I merely tested you to ensure you are not corrupt yourself. I will assist you this time, [Player]. What is it you seek?"

You say, "I seek your protection against the fierce flames of the ulvari guardian farther that now rules this temple."

"Very well. I shall bestow this gift upon you. Squeeze your fist around this orb to engulf your flesh with the fiery shields of Zalaz, and you will be able to withstand the attacks of the guardian father. Now, leave my presence."

Zalaz' Gift of Protection added to your inventory.

Return to Ang Di Lowrock."

Ang Di Lowrock says, "You are serious about this task, aren't you? Very well."

"The final trial awaits you. Whether this world remains the way it is, or falls into the grasp of the ulvari, all depends on if you succeed or fail."
